The Berkeley Area
We have quick and easy rapid transportation in and out of San Francisco via BART with a station downtown about a mile or two from our front door. The attractive University of California campus is located right downtown with an entrance on University Avenue. You’ll enjoy easy access to Oakland Coliseum, the restaurants of Jack London Square, and to everyone’s favorite city, San Francisco, which is just over the bridge just across the bay. Our 100% non-smoking hotel offers a good base and great value for the Bay Area and includes an outdoor pool and fitness center, free Wi-Fi, free cable TV, free local calls, free parking, spacious meeting rooms and a pet-friendly policy. A free Bright Side Breakfast® is also served each morning.
A picturesque drive across the Bay Bridge is all it takes to connect San Francisco to us here in the East Bay. Time your drive after dusk to experience “Bay Lights”, a new art installation adorning the bridge until 2015. With a community of 35,000 students, the University of California Berkeley, or “Cal” for short, is the pulse of the city. At the midway point on Bay Bridge, exit at Treasure Island for the flea market held the last weekend of every month. Admire phenomenal skyline and bay views from there. Continue across the span to arrive near the Ferry Building with shops and a thrice-weekly farmers market. Visit Alcatraz or take a free walking tour of a San Francisco neighborhood. All around, plentiful opportunities for top-quality outdoor recreational activities abound throughout the entire San Francisco Bay Area.
